Thank you for taking the time to visit ALL STUDENTS. I’m launching this initiative to recognize the importance of a competitive K-12 education system in Virginia’s economy.
States are competing against each other, and the world, for job-creating businesses. When deciding where to move or expand, businesses look for a well-educated and well-trained workforce. We owe every student the opportunity to be career-ready or college-ready when they graduate from high school. A good education means a good job.
We’ve got so many great teachers in Virginia who deserve to be better recognized for the invaluable roles they play in the development and learning of our students.
I am focused on rewarding and recognizing great teachers and ensuring parents and students have quality school choice and access to public charter schools. We’ve made great strides to enhance digital learning opportunities and continue to focus on workforce development through college and career ready legislation. Over the past year, we’ve made tremendous progress under the leadership of the Task Force for Local Mandate Review as they work to identify local and educational mandates for reduction. Over the course of the past year, the Administration has successfully eliminated many reporting requirements allowing educators to better focus on the classroom.
Sincerely,
Governor Bob McDonnell
